Online search to find phone ‘thief’

The hunt is on for a man whose picture is being shared on Facebook after he allegedly stole a mobile phone he found on the pavement in Sliema. The owner’s brother, James Mamo, said in a public post that the man pictured found the missing phone, picked it up and, when they tried to call, he declined to respond and then switched it off. He posted the picture on Tuesday and asked Facebook users to share the photo with a hope of finding the man. Mr Mamo said the phone went missing on April 26, at 11.06am in Mrabat Street, Sliema, near the Blue Star confectionery. He said the phone has a number of sentimental video clips and family photos so any information would be appreciated.
