Councils to be given direction on residential parking

Councils considering the introduction of parking schemes should wait until direction on residential parking is given by the government, Parliamentary Secretary for Councils Jose Herrera said. Dr Herrera today held a meeting with the Sliema council, which a few days introduced such a parking scheme and which was suspended by the government following a teachers’ strike. Both sides agreed to continue meeting for the best solution to be found.
