Updated - Two hurt in Xemxija crash

Two men were injured in a head-on crash involving a Toyota Yaris car and a Kia van at Xemxija Hill at 7 am. One of the men was trapped in the wreckage of his car and was rescued by rescuers of the Civil Protection Department, whose station is near by. The injured were a 42-year-old from Mellieha and a 45-year-old from Zabbar. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. The crash, near the roundabout, caused a traffic nightmare for motorists in the area.
