Man seriously injured in Gozo valley fall

A 24-year-old man from Kalkara was seriously injured on Sunday afternoon when he fell a height of some two storeys down the valley at Wied il-Mielaħ near Għasri in Gozo. The incident happened at about 12.30pm as the man was admiring the natural arch there. He was lifted from the valley by rescuers of the Civil Protection Department and is now receiving hospital treatment.  This is was the second such incident in as many months. In February a Swiss tourist died when he fell into the same valley.
