Man hit by coach luggage door as he replaces truck's tyre

A 41-year-old man from Żurrieq was seriously injured when he was reportedly hit by the luggage door of a coach while changing the tyre of a truck. The accident happened at about 2 pm on Buqana Road, which runs below Mdina. People on the scene said the man had been replacing a rear wheel of a truck loaded with bricks when a coach, driven by a 61-year-old from Għaxaq, went past. The luggage door of the coach somehow opened, hitting the man. The coach driver initially did not realise what had happened and drove on, but stopped a short distance away.
