Parish office thief thwarted by employee

A man who attempted a hold-up at Senglea parish office got away empty handed  this morning thanks to the quick thinking of an employee. The man, who was hooded and carried an iron bar and a screwdriver, entered the office from the church, threatened the employee and demanded cash. The employee rushed into an adjoining room, locked the door behind him and called for help. The would-be thief attempted to follow, then ran away empty handed. No one was hurt.
