Air Malta takes over as Lufthansa cancels Frankfurt flight

Lufthansa has cancelled its scheduled flight from Frankfurt tomorrow because of industrial action, but Air Malta has offered to fly the passengers instead, informed sources said. The two airlines have a code-sharing agreement for the route. The German flag-carrier was forced to cancel almost all domestic and European flights from six airports due to a strike. The Verdi trade union called on the airline's 33,000 workers to go on strike to increase pressure on the airline in a dispute over wages and job security.
