High waves are battering Cirkewwa and the North-West coast of Malta and Gozo - as forecast by the Met Office.
No serious damage was caused, but in Kappara a brick wall bordering a field collapsed, causing some damage to parked cars. Two electricity poles, one in Ibragg and one in Zejtun, also toppled over.

The rough sea and strong winds are expected to persist well into tomorrow and may also be accompanied by rain and hail tomorrow as the temperature drops.
