PN takes the Electoral Commission before the Constitutional Court

The Nationalist Party is taking the Electoral Commission before the Constitutional Court, arguing that it should not be the one to investigate and judge alleged breaches of the party funding law.   "It is unacceptable for the Nationalist Party that the Electoral Commission will both investigate and judge, more so when the majority of the members of the commission are nominated by Joseph Muscat and vote according to what suits Joseph Muscat. This makes the process vitiated, with the conclusion known before the process would have even started."   Such an investigation by the commission would be in breach of the constitution and fundamental human rights, the PN said.
