A 90-year-old man who was hit by a car driven by the head of the security service, Godfrey Scicluna, has passed away.
Mr Scicluna suspended himself from the service on Saturday and is facing court proceedings over the accident.
Sources said he was parking his car close to home in Paola, when he hit the old man. Mr Scicluna only realised he had hit the man after he exited the vehicle.
The man underwent two operations after the accident. His death, however, was from natural causes.
