The Appeals Court has altered the sentence of a man it had found guilty of causing the involuntary homicide of a jogger in Mosta in 2008.
The first court had found Kevin Ellul responsible for the death of Emanuel Formosa, 59, when he hit him with his car in Triq Durumblat, near Mosta, on January 20, 2008. The car was on the wrong side of the road at the time.
The court altered the sentence from a three-year jail term suspended for three years to a two-year jail term suspended for four.
The Attorney General had filed the appeal and called on the court to give Mr Ellul a punishment that was within the parameters of the law.
