The driver of the motorcycle (video above) being driven down Geronimo Abos Street, Iklin, might be forgiven for thinking that ‘taking out the rubbish’ has suddenly morphed into being taken out by the rubbish (truck).
The incident, filmed on a helmet camera, happened two days ago.
It was one of several items sent to Times of Malta after readers were invited to report the unusual or hilarious on Malta’s roads.
Most of the pictures received were about rubbish dumps and poor upkeep.
One reader sent in pictures of the ‘dancing water’ fountain in SmartCity, which he found in a deplorable state.
“The water itself is green,” he reported. “The filth on the water's surface is a haven for thousands of mosquitoes which attack passers-by who dare go for a stroll along the pool's perimeter, and it could be quite hazardous,” he warned.
There were quite a number of complaints about obstructions caused by feast decorations and about the traffic nightmare.

A reader complained strongly about the new one way traffic arrangements at Ta' Xbiex seafront.
“After the one way system created on the Gżira side, there is a new one which starts from the Abate Rigord Junction.
