Former Labour deputy leader Anglu Farrugia has expressed disappointment at comments about him made on One TV by financial consultant and former One chairman Alfred Mifsud.
Speaking on TVAM this morning, Dr Farrugia asked whether Mr Mifsud had spoken to Joseph Muscat or anybody else before arguing that his dismissal from the post was part of the political game, while likening Dr Muscat to a coach positioning his players.
Dr Farrugia said he would not let anyone undermine his integrity, and he asked if Mr Mifsud knew something which he did not. He knew of no plan to dismiss him and, as far as he knew, his dismissal was brought about only by comments he made on a member of the judiciary, Dr Farrugia said.
Comparing Dr Muscat to a football coach was a mistake as a leading politician should be here to serve and not be part of a bookmaker's game, Dr Farrugia said.
He said that if there was more to this matter, he would say what happened from A to Z at the opportune time.
Dr Farrugia also confirmed what he had told The Times that he would not stand as a candidate in the general election.
