A bar brawl between two cousins led to one of the men suffering permanent scarring to his neck and to the other being condemned to pay over €17,000 in damages.
The court heard that the two men were with friends in Paceville in October 2003.
Paul Abela, who at the time was 17, bought a round of drinks but got the wrong drink for Paul Inguanez.
This led to verbal altercation between the two men with Mr Inguanez breaking his glass on Mr Abela's neck causing him to suffer permanent scarring.
Although Mr Inguanez attempted to justify himself by claiming that he had been provoked by Mr Abela, the court found that this plea had not been proven.
The court found in favour of Mr Abela and ordered Mr Inguanez to pay him €17,415.84 in damages.
