‘We didn’t realise the danger when we were up there’

The Sunday Times of Malta will tomorrow carry an interview with the two youths involved in the dramatic paragliding incident at Ghadira this afternoon. The two siblings, aged 16 and 20, say they did not realise the immediate danger as the surprise storm hit Malta, before it ripped the rope connecting their parasail to the speedboat, sending them hurtling into a field. The dramatic footage was caught on video. Meanwhile, the operator also gave his version of events, saying he had never witnessed such an event in 28 years. Tomorrow’s edition of Malta’s biggest newspaper also carries a free 80th anniversary magazine, containing several historic photos, as well as the August edition of Pink magazine.
