Maltese national Daniel Sammut was today informed by the Guinness Book of Records that his record breaking attempt last March was successful.
His name will now go down in the book for the longest open saltwater Scuba dive (cold water).
Daniel Sammut dived to a depth of 11 metres at Sirens in St Paul’s Bay on March 19 and stayed in the 14 degrees Celsius water for 13 hours and 22 minutes.
The previous record was 12 hours 34 minutes.
